Sydney Roosters star recruit James Tedesco back in red, white and blue colours again

When James Tedesco wears the red, white and blue for the Roosters in 2018, it won’t be entirely new territory for the Bondi club’s $4m star recruit.

JAMES Tedesco stepped out as a Sydney Roosters player for the first time this week, but the superstar fullback is no stranger to the Tricolours.

The $4m marquee recruit uploaded a photo to Instagram on Friday in his new jersey along with a throwback photo from his days as a junior with the Camden Rams.

The 24-year-old captioned his post: “Back in the old Camden Rams colours! How good.”

The Roosters did their best to make zero fuss about Tedesco at his first training session on Monday morning.

Official requests to take some photos of the superstar fullback’s first day on the job were politely knocked back.

But The Daily Telegraph spotted Tedesco shortly after 10.30am decked out in Roosters training gear, and the images will no doubt break the hearts of thousands of fans at his former club the Wests Tigers.

Tedesco looked in good spirits as he walked from Roosters HQ and shared a laugh with Blake Ferguson, his NSW teammate and winger.

Tedesco wasn’t the only new Rooster paraded, with Cooper Cronk donning the jersey for the first time since his move north from Melbourne Storm.

And the fullback says he is hoping to learn plenty from his new teammate.

“He’s one of the best halves in the world, and the way he and Billy combined for so many years, and how well they looked together, it’s pretty exciting for me to know I can learn a thing or two off Cooper,” Tedesco said.

“He’s got a big footy brain, so I’m keen to learn off him and excited about what he can do for my game.

“The way he speaks on and off the field, it will be exciting to learn off him. I think he can take my game to the next level.

“Watching Billy over the years and how they combined was exciting, and hopefully we can replicate that in the Roosters colours.”
