“Trent and his wife were injured and suffered burns to their arms, both were doused in cold water immediately.

“Ambulances and a rescue helicopter were sent to the property.

“The critical care medical team airlifted them to John Hunter Hospital.”

Robinson is a former Dally M coach of the year and has led the Roosters since 2013, winning three premierships during his 311-game stint with the Bondi Junction club.

Weidler added that Robinson and his wife spent an extended time at the hospital.

“Trent’s wife Sandra was kept there for a night,” the reporter said.

“Trent was kept there for a couple of nights because when there are gas injuries, monitoring of the lungs has to be taken care of as well.

“John Quayle and his wife were not injured fortunately and fortunately, Trent Robinson is back home recovering with his wife Sandra.”

The Roosters’ 2024 season ended with a preliminary final loss to eventual losing grand finalists the Melbourne Storm on September 27.
