OUR 2014 SuperCoach champion, the incomparable Dave Von Kotze, reviews all three of Sunday’s matches and takes a look at how to scratch your SuperCoach itch during the finals

WHAT WE LEARNED YESTERDAY

PARRAMATTA EELS V CANBERRA RAIDERS

•Try scoring machine Semi Radradra (135) stole the show and wrapped up Perfect Eight honours with his sixth double of the year. Radradra’s two try effort saw him grab the NRL top-try scorer mantle for the season and yesterday’s triple-figured performance capped off an incredible year for the ‘Semi Trailer’.

•Raiders centre Jarrod Croker (91) also bagged a double and kicked four goals, including a high-pressure kick from the sideline to force the game into golden point to finish the season off as the NRL’s top point scorer.

Jarrod Croker scored 91 in the Raiders win over Parramatta.

CRONULLA SHARKS V MANLY SEA EAGLES

•Sharks left edge forward Wade Graham produced another fantastic performance and he has been a most profitable purchase during the second half of the season for his 10,761 owners. Graham found the try line to post 86 Points and has finished the SuperCoach season with a five round average of 66.

•Cronulla battle axe Paul Gallen played the full game and scored at just over a point per minute for a solid 82 points. Whether SuperCoaches love or hate the Blues captain, there is no denying that he is one of the best in the business averaging 79 points for the sixteen games he played this year.

•The off-season couldn’t come quick enough for 10 million dollar man Daly Cherry-Evans who only managed 31 points. DCE is running on empty and has been nursing a shoulder injury for the past few months and this could have had a negative impact on his SuperCoach scores.

CANTERBURY BULLDOGS V NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS

•Exciting winger Curtis Rona fired on all cylinders and wasn’t going to give up the hunt for top tryscorer without a fight. Rona (91) scored many tries throughout the year with acrobatic skills that would not look out of place in a Cirque Du Soleil show and he did so again last night as he scored his 22nd try of the year.

•Damien Cook continued his dream run grabbing his third try in as many games of first grade this year for another superb 82 point performance pre-updates. Cook has added an exciting element to the Bulldogs’ attack over the past three rounds and will finish the SuperCoach season with a three game average of 86.

•The fleet-footed Tuimoala Lolohea scored a double for the third time this year and very nearly sparked a comeback victory for the Warriors. Lolohea’s (120) two tries were complimented by four goals, a try assist, eight tackle-busts and two line breaks to crack the ton for his highest SuperCoach score to date.

•Ben Matulino made a much needed return from suspension to save many overall teams this week as he knocked out a much needed 67 points for his 17,693 owners.

WHAT TO DO NEXT WEEK

•When all the updates are said and done, the SuperCoach world will welcome another overall champion at some point today as they hold aloft the overall Holy Grail. Head-to-head leagues and copious amounts of SuperCoach street-cred and heart break will be dealt out as well leaving thousands of owners reflecting on where the wheels fell off their 2015 campaign.

But as the dust settles on one of the craziest SuperCoach seasons to date, it could be time to get back to the important things in life like family, friends and our jobs or … … brush all of that, sign straight back up for SuperCoach Finals and get busy living. Boom!
