The final week of the NRL Pre-Season Challenge is done and won and SuperCoaches may have lost the most popular player in the game.
Ethan Strange came into the weekend as the most-owned player in SuperCoach. Kaeo Weekes sat sixth. But one of them won’t be there come Team List Tuesday.
SuperCoaches were hoping both could fit into Canberra’s starting 13 for round one – Weekes in the five-eight spot of Jack Wighton (Rabbitohs) and Strange in the centre spot of Jarrod Croker (retired).
That wont happen.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart revealed pre-game that Weekes and Strange are in a one-on-one battle for the five-eighth spot only and Strange is not being considered as a centre.
Strange (try) and Weekes (try assist) both had good moments so we wait until team announcements to see who gets the gig.
But in summary, one of them won’t make the round one team and SuperCoaches must have a contingency plan.
