The Sharks have suffered a major blow ahead of their local derby clash with St George-Illawarra with playmaker Matt Moylan ruled out with a quad injury.

The in-form five-eighth has been sent for scans after feeling a niggle in his quad in the dying stages of the Sharks captains run on Friday.

Braydon Trindall has been drafted into the starting halves to partner Nicho Hynes.

Talented outside back Lachie Miller will join the Sharks bench.
