NRL SuperCoach: Winners and Losers - Round 13

AS we head towards Round 13, Dave ‘VK’ Von Kotze takes a look at the men pulling big numbers but low ownership.

1) Jake Trbojevic ($388,200/ 12 per cent ownership)

The man commonly known as ‘JTurbo’ in SuperCoach circles has made $77,500 so far this season and currently sits with a season average of 65.

In recent times his minutes have fluctuated slightly but he has played more than 70 minutes on six occasions this year. He does have a break-even of 95 so potential owners should be able to grab him next week for a cheaper price.

2) Aiden Tolman ($328,900/ 2.6 per cent ownership)

Scored a try to inflate his score this week but played the full eighty with the absence of Josh Jackson and David Klemmer on Origin duty or possibly due to the injury to Sam Kasiano injury which saw him only play 15 minutes.

Tolman will rise in value by $20,000 this week and if he continues to play these extra minutes, he will continue to grow in value significantly over the representative period.

3) Dale Finucane ($358,500/3.4 per cent ownership)

Finucane is one for those looking for a no-nonsense, reliable option to take them through to round eighteen.

His price should remain steady this week with a break-even of 65 and he is definitely not one that will make huge dollars but with a season average of 59 and a 0.9 PPM, Finucane is a safe bet.

Finucane has a fine work rate.

4) Bodene Thompson ($375,300/0.8 per cent ownership)

Thompson definitely has more ability to deliver attacking stats than the above mentioned Finucane. At less than 1 per cent ownership, potential owners won’t find more of a POD than this Warriors edge forward.

If Shaun Johnson is firing, he usually takes Bodene along for the ride and with a season average of 62 and a three game average of 64, Thompson may be your man.

5) Tom Trbojevic ($355,700/10.1 per cent ownership)

Reasonably expensive but the dual CTW/FLB has earned every cent of his price tag averaging 60 over the whole season and 65 in his last three games.

Trbojevic’s break-even is 63 for Friday’s game against the Raiders but with three tries and two try assists in his past five games, he is certainly hitting some form.

6) Jake Granville ($287,600/8.5 per cent ownership)

Granville has played the full eighty for the past two games and averaged 64 since playing bigger minutes. If Johnathan Thurston or Michael Morgan are given a rest against the Knights this weekend and Granville continues this trend, he will continue to build on the $18,000 profit he will bring in this week for his owners, especially if he is able grab some attacking stats at home against the Knights.

Granville might play more minutes during the Origin period.

7) Konrad Hurrell ($217,900/1.5 per cent ownership)

The ‘Hurrellcane’ hasn’t featured in too many SuperCoach related articles so far this season but that could all be set to change. Despite being a loose cannon, Hurrell has shown in the past that he has the ability to be a weapon in the CTW position and is an absolute steal at his current price should he cement a regular spot in the Titans’ backline.

Potential owners will have the luxury of holding off a week to see what role he will play due to a high break-even of 88.

8) Jarrod Wallace ($223,900/0.7 per cent ownership)

Wallace has the ability to be a POD if, and only if Corey Parker is rested for this weekend’s game against the Warriors in New Zealand. Wallace played 56 minutes at lock against the Tigers last Friday and saw a big increase in game time in comparison to his season average. He is a risky option but will start next game with a low break-even and a price tag of around $238,000.

Wallace could be a good option during this period.

9) Elijah Taylor ($285,600/ 0.6 per cent ownership)

Taylor has been mentioned frequently in POD watch over recent weeks but he gets another run this week after averaging 61 since joining the Tigers in round ten.

When playing for the Panthers, Taylor was known for his ability to keep churning out base stats on a regular basis, however, over the past fortnight ‘ET’ has been used as an extra ballplayer to create space for the Tigers halves. Since taking on this role he has acquired more attacking stats and scored 70 and 78 which will see his price rise $23,000 this week leaving him with a price tag just under $310,000.

10) Joey Leilua ($467,000/6 per cent ownership) & Jordan Rapana ($509,600/3.8 per cent ownership)

The most dangerous centre/wing combination in the competition have to be mentioned even though they may be currently well out of reach for those who don’t own them.

Six per cent of Leilua owners and just under four per cent of Rapana owners have struck absolute gold this season with the pair averaging higher than any other two players in the competition with less than ten per cent ownership.

In their past six games, both Leilua and his wingman Rapana have averaged an incredible 89 and are churning out SuperCoach points for fun. Even though the Raiders don’t play round fifteen, it may be time to cough up the cash and bring in Leilua while his round eleven score of 38 is still in his rolling average otherwise he may soar too far out of reach.
