NRL SuperCoach ambassador Anthony Minichiello reveals inside oil on Roosters

HOW many minutes will Kane Evans play? Who will kick goals? How will the forward rotation work? Anthony Minichiello reveals all.

Winners and Losers: NRL SuperCoach Round 1

SUPERCOACH ambassador and Roosters legend Anthony Minichiello has some seriously important intel on the most exciting team in NRL SuperCoach.

Among his revelations:

* Popular mid-ranger Kane Evans is set to play 50 minutes at prop.

* Point of difference player Mitchell Aubusson is set to play 80 minutes in the back row.

* Star cheapie Jackson Hastings is confirmed to kick goals.

* Cheapie option Vincent Leuluai is one of the hardest runners at the club.

ANTHONY MINICHIELLO’S SUPERCOACH COLUMN

THE Roosters are the most exciting team in NRL SuperCoach.

In fact, I plan to start the year with as many as seven of my Bondi Boys. Yes seven.

That may sound ridiculous to some.

But having watched most of these guys develop for years, and having witnessed first-hand as all of them literally tore up the pre-season, the notion of carrying seven players from the one club is not at all ridiculous to me.

SuperCoaches seem to agree. Five of the top 20 most popular players come from the Roosters, including three of the top four.

Jackson Hastings - 62% ownership ($133,300)

The most popular player in SuperCoach - and for good reason. Fans saw a glimpse of his potential when he took over the team with ease last year in the absence of Mitchell Pearce. He has maturity beyond his years, a great footy brain and brilliant general kicking game. But perhaps his best asset for SuperCoach is goalkicking.

Buy, Hold, Sell: NRL SuperCoach Round 1

Latrell Mitchell - 56% ownership ($113,800)

I’ve watched this kid come through the grades and he is a freak. People say he is the next Greg Inglis and it’s uncanny when you see his mannerisms and the way he streamrolls defenders, as he showed with a couple of huge runs in the World Club Series. He is a starting player in my SuperCoach side and I expect plenty of tackle busts, but also a heap of tries as he has great footy instincts. Impossible to leave out.

Jayden Nikorima - 50% ownership ($113,800)

The standout performer of the World Club Challenge, setting up tries and making breaks for fun. He has a starting halves spot wrapped up indefinitely while Mitchell Pearce is out. He already had speed off the mark when he came to the club, but his skill-set has gone through the roof since starting work under Andrew Johns.

Dale Copley - 27% ownership ($178,500)

Starts cheap after being in and out of the Brisbane side, but he has scored the centre spot vacated by Michael Jennings at the Roosters. I was immediately impressed with his incredible skill level and he will make plenty of cash.

Kane Evans - 19% ownership ($242,800)

Evans has had a massive pre-season and was rewarded with a starting front row spot for round one, with Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (ACL) injured. He has plenty of attacking stats in him, as he showed with a try in the game against St Helens. He is as fit as he’s ever been and I estimate his game time will increase from an average of 27 minutes to around the 50 minute mark.

Mitchell Aubusson - 4% ownership ($304,300)

Versatile, smart, tough and underestimated. What’s more, I expect him to play 80 minutes, or very close, over the opening rounds while Boyd Cordner (pectoral) is out. Coach Trent Robinson has entrusted his wide backrowers to cop the brunt of the new interchange rules, while the middle rotation will stay the same. His back row base stats will be very welcome in my centres.

Vincent Leuluai - 12% ownership ($113,800)

Runs hard. Hits hard. Isn’t scared of anyone. Leuluai has been at the club for a few years, but produced an awesome pre-season to surge into the World Club Series side and then the round one team. Minutes could be an issue, but he starts at bottom dollar and can only go up.
