NRL SuperCoach 2018: Winner crowned in closest finish ever

AFTER 25 rounds, it came down to three runs. THREE MEASLY RUNS.

The NRL SuperCoach winner for 2018 has been crowned in the closest finish ever.

IT’S the closest finish in the history of SuperCoach NRL — presented by hipages.

After an entire season, it came down to three runs. THREE MEASLY RUNS, worth six measly SuperCoach points.

Guy Feeney, coach of Munsters Inc, is $50,000 richer after taking out a nailbiter in the final round.

Second-placed Brett Gilly, coach of Gils Front Runners, can be excused for feeling a little jaded after missing out by such a small margin, although he still pockets $5,000.

Both SuperCoaches pulled the right rein by captaining James Tedesco (180), who produced the second highest SuperCoach score of all time.

And both had in-form Valentine Holmes, who knocked out his fourth ton of the year.

Perhaps the difference was Munsters Inc’s selection of Blake Ferguson, who notched 120 in the Roosters’ rout of Parramatta.

When you consider Munsters Inc scored almost 25,000 points over the entire season, the six point gap is miniscule.

In SuperCoach terms it’s equal to three good hit-ups, or six tackles, or three tackle busts, or one last touch assist, or half a try assist, or a third of a try.

SuperCoach would like to send out a massive congratulations to all our prize winners in 2018 — we’ve given away a massive $149,750 in cash this year (let’s call it an even $150,000).

Enjoy your downtime while you can because SuperCoach Big Bash is launching soon!
