KFC SuperCoach: Winners and Losers - Round 3

Throughout the entire shutdown we pumped up a Warriors forward as KFC SuperCoach cheapie of the week.

And yes, a Warriors forward is buy of the round, but not the one we expected.

New Zealand rookie Eliesa Katoa was the talk of the COVID shutdown, going into teams day as the fifth most popular buy and by far the most popular cheapie.

However, teammate Jamayne Taunoa-Brown has leapfrogged Katoa in the cheapie pecking order after being named to start at prop, while Katoa reverts to the bench.

In any case, both remain strong buys as they are set for big minutes without key forwards Leeson Ah Mau (pectoral), Jazz Tevaga (knee), Bunty Afoa and Jackson Frei (all ACL).

WINNERS

* Kotoni Staggs - Has scored the most points of any player in KFC SuperCoach this year and currently the most purchased player this week, attracting almost double the interest of the next most popular player Isaah Yeo.

* Isaah Yeo - Playing 80 minutes in the back row but available at CTW for KFC SuperCoach. The closest thing we have to a John Bateman, Tohu Harris, Simon Mannering-style banker in the backline this season. That said, his switch from second row to lock this week is slightly worrying, with recruit Kurt Capewell (quad) returning from injury on the edge.

* Will Kennedy - Bronson Xerri’s drug suspension has handed the popular cheapie a stay of execution, although Matt Moylan (calf/hamstring) is lurking on the extended bench.

* Tex Hoy (replacing suspended Kalyn Ponga), Troy Dargan (replacing suspended Cody Walker), Matt Burton (replacing suspended Nathan Cleary), Patrick Mago (back from injury), Jamal Fogarty (starting in halves for Titans) - All cheapies, all set for their first games of the year (many of them debuts). Keep an eye on them as cheapie prospects for Round 5.

Eliesa Katoa remains a key buy despite dropping to the bench.
Eliesa Katoa remains a key buy despite dropping to the bench.

LOSERS

* David Fifita - Will miss 2-4 weeks and therefore the most sold player, attracting almost quadruple the trades of the next player.

* Kalyn Ponga - Suspended for a week and therefore the eighth most sold player.

* Connor Watson - Very popular buy during the lockdown. The injury to Jayden Brailey (ACL) sees Watson in the No.9 jersey this week but recruit Andrew McCullough is lurking, despite not being named in the 21.

* Nathan Cleary - Suspended for two weeks and therefore a sell for 15 per cent of KFC SuperCoaches.

* Thomas Flegler - Very popular cheapie. Has retained his starting spot for now but will lose it soon to Matt Lodge, who has been named to return from a partial ACL tear on the extended bench, while Alex Glenn and Joe Ofahengaue also make comebacks.

* Tyrell Fuimaono - Very popular buy but game time will plummet from an average of 74 minutes after being shunted to the bench to allow for the returns of Tariq Sims, Korbin Sims and Cameron McInnes.

* Kallum Watkins - Popular Titan has left the NRL for the UK after his father contracted coronavirus.

* Billy Walters - Popular cheapie has lost his starting hooker spot at the Tigers following recruitment of “Cameron Smith clone” Harry Grant.

Broncos vs Eels

Thursday, May 28th, Suncorp Stadium, 7:50pm

Broncos: 1. Jamayne Isaako, 2. Corey Oates, 3. Kotoni Staggs, 4. Darius Boyd, 5. Jesse Arthars, 6. Anthony Milford, 7. Brodie Croft (c), 8. Tom Flegler, 9. Jake Turpin, 10. Payne Haas, 11. Alex Glenn, 12. Jamil Hopoate, 13. Pat Carrigan (c)

Interchange: 14. Herbie Farnworth, 15. Joe Ofahengaue, 16. Rhys Kennedy, 17. Ethan Bullemor

Reserves: 18. Tesi Niu, 19. Xavier Coates, 20. Tom Dearden, 21. Matt Lodge

Team news: As promised the Broncos have named Matt Lodge (jersey 21) in their extended squad. If he gets through the captains run expect Lodge to move on to the interchange bench with Ethan Bullemor the man most likely to make way. Value buys Thomas Flegler, Jamil Hopoate and Patrick Carrigan have all been named in the starting 13 while Alex Glenn returns in a straight swap for David Fifita (knee).

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Plenty happening. Could write a 3000 word Rob Sutherland spiel on almost every player in this side, but let’s keep it concise. David Fifita is an obvious sell. Kotoni Staggs is verging on a must-have, but POD hunters should look elsewhere. Tom Flegler will lose his starting spot very soon and is a bust, but those already on should celebrate the $130,000 price rise predicted by KFC SuperCoach Stats. Pat Carrigan is the biggest panic point for Sangster’s Paradise with Lodge and Joe O back. But I’m confident, even with the cavalry returning, that Carrigan’s base minutes are around the 50 mark given the Broncos have made him co-captain and Queensland types call him the “next Corey Parker”. In other words, he’ll make some great cash and be a top 17 player as he does it, but not a keeper to the end. The best captaincy option in KFC SuperCoach 2020, Payne Haas, may well end up a POD skipper in the first game of the round as loopholers play silly buggers. Get on.

Eels: 1. Clint Gutherson, 2. Maika Sivo, 3. Michael Jennings, 4. Waqa Blake, 5. Blake Ferguson, 6. Dylan Brown, 7. Mitchell Moses, 8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard, 9. Reed Mahoney, 10. Junior Paulo, 11. Shaun Lane, 12. Ryan Matterson, 13. Marata Niukore

Interchange: 14. Brad Takairangi, 15. Ray Stone, 16. Kane Evans 17. Peni Terepo

Reserves: 18. Oregon Kaufusi, 19. George Jennings, 20. Jaeman Salmon, 21. David Gower

Team news: No big shocks at the Eels though it is Marata Niukore who has won the start in place of Nathan Brown (susp) as opposed to Peni Terepo.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: The Eels have arguably the softest draw in competition. Unlike most NSW teams, they have all home games at their actual home ground, where they just so happen to have a ridiculously good record. Further, they have a bunch of “away” games at said “home” ground. They have also sidestepped playing twice against title heavyweights Roosters, Storm and Raiders. This all bodes well for Mitchell Moses and he’s by far the best replacement for the suspended Nathan Cleary. The draw also bodes well for Moses’s partner in crime Dylan Brown. Following a career best 123 against the Titans in Round 2, KFC SuperCoach Stats predicts Brown’s price to rise by almost $140,000 in the fortnight Cleary is out. But Brown has stiff competition in the rather niche “Grab Some Quick Cash in The Halves” bracket alongside Josh Drinkwater.

Cowboys vs Titans

Friday, May 29th, Queensland Country Bank Stadium, 6:00pm

Cowboys: 1. Valentine Holmes, 2. Kyle Feldt, 3. Justin O’Neill, 4. Esan Marsters, 5. Ben Hampton, 6. Scott Drinkwater, 7. Jake Clifford, 8. Josh McGuire, 9. Jake Granville, 10. Jordan McLean, 11. Mitchell Dunn, 12. Coen Hess, 13. Jason Taumalolo

Interchange: 14. Reece Robson, 15. John Asiata, 16. Shane Wright, 17. Francis Molo

Reserves: 18. Corey Jensen, 19. Tom Gilbert, 20. Tom Opacic, 21. Reuben Cotter

Team news: As expected, Jake Clifford comes in to replace the injured Michael Morgan while Mitchell Dunn is promoted to the starting lineup in place of Gavin Cooper (calf injury). Jordan McLean will captain the team in the absence of Morgan.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: News David Fifita will miss 2-4 upcoming rounds means KFC SuperCoaches are on the hunt for a replacement. What’s more, KFC SuperCoaches likely have plenty of cash from Koroisau/Katoa/AFB trades and can afford to splurge on the best of the best — Jason Taumalolo. Not much more needs to be written about this bloke except to restate his averages over the last half decade – 65, 75, 70, 78 and 85. If you didn’t start him, now is the time to jump on. Josh Drinkwater is a great cash grab for those selling Kalyn Ponga at fullback or Nathan Cleary in the halves. He’s currently the fourth most purchased player — for good reason.

Titans: 1. Tyrone Roberts, 2. Anthony Don, 3. Dale Copley, 4. Tyrone Peachey, 5. Phil Sami, 6. Ash Taylor, 7. Jamal Fogarty, 8. Moeaki Fotuaika, 9. Nathan Peats, 10. Sam Lisone, 11. Kevin Proctor (c), 12. Keegan Hipgrave, 13. Jai Arrow.

Interchange: 14. Erin Clark, 15. Jai Whitbread, 16. Jarrod Wallace, 17. Shannon Boyd.

Reserves: 18. Bryce Cartwright, 19. Mitch Rein, 20. Brian Kelly, 21. Jonus Pearson.

Team news: Changes galore at the Titans as tipped by the Courier Mail’s Travis Meyn with Cheapie Jamal Fogarty in the halves, Nathan Peats back to starting hooker, Erin Clark wins a debut off the bench and Tyrone Roberts to fullback pushing Phillip Sami to the wing.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Jai Arrow interests me greatly. He played just 53 minutes in the opening round due to illness, then 80 minutes the next week once the sniffles wore off. If he plays 80 every week, he’ll end as a top 20 KFC SuperCoach player at the very least. Under previous KFC SuperCoach rules, Arrow was a risk as he has complete disregard for his body and is prone to snap in half. But with a bucket-load of trades this year and no Origin or byes to interrupt the season, he’s a serious POD at 14 per cent ownership.

Roosters vs Rabbitohs

Friday, May 29th, Bankwest Stadium, 7:50pm

Roosters: 1. James Tedesco, 2. Daniel Tupou, 3. Josh Morris, 4. Joseph Manu, 5. Brett Morris, 6. Luke Keary, 7. Kyle Flanagan, 8. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, 9. Jake Friend, 10. Isaac Liu, 11. Boyd Cordner, 12. Angus Crichton, 13. Victor Radley

Interchange: 14. Sam Verrills, 15. Sitili Tupouniua, 16. Nat Butcher, 17. Lindsay Collins

Reserves: 18. Siosiua Taukeiaho, 19. Ryan Hall, 20. Lachlan Lam, 21. Poasa Faamausili

Team news: Boyd Cordner is back for the Roosters and will take up his usual role on the left edge. Mitch Aubusson (compassionate grounds) is out so Angus Crichton will start on the right edge. Josh Morris will make his club debut at centre which sees Matt Ikuvalu dropped from the team. Barnstorming prop Sio Siua Taukeiaho has been dropped to the reserves under an injury cloud; Isaac Liu has been named to start in his place. Nat Butcher and Sitili Tupouniua add some beef to the bench

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Team work makes the dream work and that’s why the Roosters have won consecutive premierships. However, teamwork is the enemy of KFC SuperCoaches as the stats are so spread out. As such, there are no players of interest in this side except for perennial KFC SuperCoach superstar James Tedesco. The mere sight of him on a rugby league field is enough to send non-owners into a panic, so save yourself a heart attack and just back him in.

Rabbitohs: 1. Latrell Mitchell, 2. Dane Gagai, 3. Campbell Graham, 4. Braidon Burns, 5. Alex Johnston, 6. Troy Dargan, 7. Adam Reynolds, 8. Tevita Tatola, 9. Damien Cook, 10. Thomas Burgess, 11. Jaydn Su’A, 12. Cameron Murray, 13. Liam Knight

Interchange: 14. Mark Nicholls, 15. Ethan Lowe, 16. Bayley Sironen, 17. Patrick Mago

Reserves: 18. Bryson Goodwin, 19. Tom Amone, 20. James Roberts, 21. Keaon Koloamatangi

Team news: Latrell Mitchell has been retained at fullback with James Roberts outside of the 17 named in the reserves. Campbell Graham takes Roberts’ centre position and Alex Johnston gets a start on the wing. Cody Walker’s suspension means a start for Troy Dargan at 5/8. And pre-season star Patrick Mago on the interchange bench.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: It’s rabbit hunting season. Five of the 10 most sold players this week are Rabbitohs — Damien Cook, Liam Knight, Cameron Murray, Braidon Burns and Latrell Mitchell. It’s hard to argue with any of these trades. Cook to Koroisau makes mathematical sense and is the most popular trade of the week. The trade itself creates almost $400,000. Add in the predicted rises and falls of each player and you are looking at a $700,000 turnaround. Cook will come good, of course, especially under the new ruck rules. But with so many trades this year, you can afford to sell for a week or two and buy him back.

Warriors vs Dragons

Saturday, May 30th, Central Coast Stadium, 3:00pm

Warriors: 1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (c), 2. Patrick Herbert, 3. Peta Hiku, 4. Gerard Beale, 5. Ken Maumalo, 6. Kodi Nikorima, 7. Blake Green, 8. Lachlan Burr, 9. Wayde Egan, 10. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown, 11. Isaiah Papali’i, 12. Tohu Harris, 13. Adam Blair

Interchange: 14. Karl Lawton, 15. King Vuniyayawa, 16. Agnatius Paasi, 17. Elisea Katoa

Reserves: 18. Channel Harris-Tevita, 20. Josh Curran, 21. Adam Pompey, 22. Jack Murchie

Team news: For the Warriors, KFC SuperCoach cheapie sensation Eliesa Katoa has lost his starting edge role named on the bench with Isaiah Papali’i preferred in the number 11 jersey. His loss is offset by the promotion of Jamayne Taunoa-Brown to start at prop in place of the injured Leeson Ah Mau. Gerard Beale to start at centre in place of the injured David Fusitu’a.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Teams in turmoil always present easy prey and the KFC SuperCoach vultures are ready to swoop. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown is the cheapie of the week after scoring a starting spot in a depleted side. And with a projected price rise well over $100,000 in the next fortnight, Elisea Katoa is still worth a quick collect despite being dropped to the bench.

Dragons: 1. Matt Dufty, 2. Jordan Pereira, 3. Brayden Williame, 4. Zac Lomax, 5. Mikaele Ravalawa, 6. Corey Norman, 7. Ben Hunt, 8. Korbin Sims, 9. Cameron McInnes, 10. Paul Vaughan, 11. Tyson Frizell, 12. Tariq Sims, 13. James Graham

Interchange: 14. Josh Kerr, 15. Blake Lawrie, 16. Tyrell Fuimaono, 17. Euan Aitken

Reserves: 18. Trent Merrin, 19. Adam Clune, 20. Jacob Host, 21. Jackson Ford

Team news: At the Dragons, Zac Lomax will play his third position in three rounds named at centre this week after playing fullback and then wing earlier in the season. Regular centre Tim Lafai has been dropped. Major shakeups in the forward pack with Korbin Sims to start at prop, Cameron McInnes back at hooker (and Issac Luke dropped which indicates McInnes could go the full 80 minutes), Tariq Sims returning from injury and James Graham to start at lock. Trent Merrin is out with Josh Kerr holding on to his spot on the interchange bench as has Tyrell Fuimaono.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: So many shocks in this side — Zac Lomax to centre, Cameron McInnes set to play 80 minutes with Issac Luke out, James Graham to lock, Trent Merrin dropped, Josh Kerr preferred. But realistically, all KFC SuperCoaches care about is Tyrell Fuimaono. Unfortunately he’s been shunted to the bench following the returns of the Sims bothers and McInnes. Fuimaono is no longer a buy but still a great cash generator for those already on.

Sharks vs Tigers

Saturday, May 30th, Bankwest Stadium, 5:30pm

Sharks: 1. William Kennedy, 2. Sione Katoa, 3. Josh Dugan, 4. Jesse Ramien, 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo, 6. Shaun Johnson, 7. Chad Townsend, 8. Andrew Fifita, 9. Blayke Brailey, 10. Aaron Woods, 11. Briton Nikora, 12. Wade Graham, 13. Jack Williams

Interchange: 14. Connor Tracey, 15. Braden Hamlin-Uele, 16. Tody Rudolf, 17. Scott Sorensen

Reserves: 18. Billy Magoulias, 19. Matt Moylan, 20. Royce Hunt, 21. Siosifa Talaki

Team news: Top KFC SuperCoach cheapie Will Kennedy retains the fullback spot, although Matt Moylan (hamstring/calf) is lurking on the bench. Josh Dugan (knee) is a key inclusion, although Bronson Xerri (drugs ban) is out. Briton Nikora (shoulder) returns in the back row with Scott Sorensen shifting to the interchange and Billy Magoulias dropping out of the 17.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Popular cheapie Will Kennedy retains his spot for now, but will lose it soon — possibly this week — to Matt Moylan. Jack Williams is the third most sold player. He came into the season with plenty of hype after fighting off a number of contenders to claim Paul Gallen’s famous No. 13 jersey. The prediction of increased game time has certainly come true with Williams averaging 54 minutes, up from 37 last year. However, the increased time has come at the expense of work rate, with his PPM dropping from a beastly 1.14 to 0.64.

Tigers: 1. Adam Doueihi, 2. David Nofoaluma, 3. Joseph Leilua, 4. Moses Mbye, 5. Robert Jennings, 6. Benji Marshall, 7. Luke Brooks, 8. Josh Aloiai, 9. Harry Grant, 10. Thomas Mikaele, 11. Luke Garner, 12. Luciano Leilua, 13. Alex Twal

Interchange: 14 .Oliver Clark, 15. Billy Walters, 16. Chris Lawrence, 17. Alex Sayfarth

Reserves: 18. Josh Reynolds, 19. Matthew Eisenhuth, 20. Zane Musgrove, 21. Michael Chee Kam

Team news: KFC SuperCoach cheapie Billy Walters has been benched with recruit Harry Grant starting at hooker. Star players Moses Mbye (knee) and Luke Brooks (calf) return.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Fresh recruit and “Cameron Smith clone” Harry Grant moves straight into the starting side, relegating popular cheapie Billy Walters to the bench. Walters will still make plenty of cash over the next few weeks, but the flame will flicker very quickly. Meanwhile, keep an eye on Grant as a downgrade from Koroisau or Brailey in two weeks.

KFC SuperCoach NRL for 2021.

Storm vs Raiders

Saturday, May 30th, AAMI Park, 7:30pm

Storm: 1. Ryan Papenhuyzen, 2. Suliasi Vunivalu, 3. Marion Seve, 4. Justin Olam, 5. Josh Addo-Carr, 6. Cameron Munster, 7. Jahrome Hughes, 8. Jesse Bromwich, 9. Cameron Smith, 10. Nelson Asofa-Solomona, 11. Felise Kaufusi, 12. Kenny Bromwich, 13. Dale Finucane

Interchange: 14. Brandon Smith, 15. Tino Faasuamaleaui, 16. Christian Welch, 17. Max King

Reserves: 18. Tom Eisenhuth, 19. Brenko Lee, 20. Ryley Jacks, 21. Darryn Schonig

Team news:Brandon Smith (facial fracture) and Christian Welch (ACL) are key inclusions on the bench with Tui Kamikamica (back) and Tom Eisenhuth dropping out.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Ryan Papenhuyzen is averaging 54 with basically no attacking stats. A huge score is on the horizon, although this week’s match-up against last year’s grand finalists is a tough one. Keep an eye on Cameron Smith this week. There’s plenty of mail that Brandon Smith has been training a lot at hooker to take advantage of new ruck rules. Where does this leave The GOAT? Halfback? Bench?

Raiders: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, 2. Bailey Simonsson, 3. Jarrod Croker, 4. Curtis Scott, 5. Nick Cotric, 6. Jack Wighton, 7. George Williams, 8. Josh Papalii, 9. Josh Hodgson, 10. Dunamis Lui, 11. Corey Horsburgh, 12. Joe Tapine, 13. Corey Horsburgh

Interchange: 14. Siliva Havili, 15. Emre Guler, 16. Iosia Soliola 17. Michael Oldfield

Reserves: 18. Jordan Rapana, 19. Matt Frawley, 20. Kai O’Donnell, 21. Tom Starling

Team news: Same 17 as last round. Recruit Jordan Rapana is named on an extended bench. John Bateman (shoulder) remains sidelined but is expected back as early as next week.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Recruit Jordan Rapana – A KFC SuperCoach great no less – misses the 17 entirely. However, there is big mail he’ll come onto the bench and that’s music to the ears of KFC SuperCoaches as the reduced minutes will lead to a big price drop and he’ll be available for a bargain in a few weeks. Emre Guler will make some quick cash for those who jumped on, but impending returns could see his minutes drop sharply in coming weeks. Make sure you cash in at the right time.

KFC Supercoach: Buy, Hold and Sell - Round 3

Knights vs Panthers

Sunday, May 31st, Campbelltown Stadium, 4:05pm

Knights: 1. Tex Hoy, 2. Edrick Lee, 3. Enari Tuala, 4. Gehamat Shibasaki, 5. Hymel Hunt, 6. Kurt Mann, 7. Mitchell Pearce, 8. David Klemmer, 9. Connor Watson, 10. Daniel Saifiti, 11. Lachlan Fitzgibbon, 12. Sione Mata’utia, 13. Herman Ese’ese

Interchange:14. Chris Randall, 15. Jacob Saifiti, 16. Tim Glasby, 17. Aidan Guerra

Reserves:18. Bradman Best, 19. Brodie Jones, 20. Mason Lino, 21. Pasami Saulo

Team news:Connor Watson starts at hooker in place of Jayden Brailey (ACL) with recruit Andrew McCullough nowhere to be seen in the 21. Kalyn Ponga (suspension, round four) is replaced at fullback by debutant Tex Hoy. Sione Mata’utia replaces Mitch Barnett (neck) in the back row and hooker Chris Randall joins the bench.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: I was super keen on Connor Watson during lockdown but he’s now a no-go despite being named to start, with Chris Randall lurking on the bench and recruit Andrew McCullough sure to come into calculations from next week. Popular cheapie Gehamat Shibasaki is going along nicely, averaging 39 points with 33 in base. David Fifita’s injury means forward guns are the order of the day and Klemmer is right up there with Taumalolo as the best replacement after pumping out 69 and 72 in the opening weeks. These scores came mostly in pure base stats, although he also developed an offload over the off-season. With State of Origin to take place after the season proper and therefore have no impact on the regular season, the KFC SuperCoach value of Origin players is at an all-time high.

Panthers: 1. Caleb Aetkins, 2. Josh Mansour, 3. Dean Whare, 4. Brent Naden, 5. Brian To’o, 6. Matt Burton, 7. Jarome Luai, 8. James Tamou, 9. Apisai Koroisau, 10. James Fisher-Harris, 11. Viliame Kikau, 12. Kurtis Capewell, 13. Isaah Yeo

Interchange:14. Stephen Crichton, 15. Zane Tetevano, 16. Moses Leota, 17. Liam Martin

Reserves:18. Mitch Kenny, 19. Billy Burns, 20. Kaide Ellis, 21. Charlie Staines

Team news: Nathan Cleary (suspension) is replaced in the halves by Matt Burton. Kurt Capewell (quad) returns to the pack with Zane Tetevano shifting to the bench, James Fisher-Harris moving to prop and Isaah Yeo to lock. Yes, Yeo, the second most purchased player this week, moves to the middle.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Here’s a bold prediction — Stephen Crichton will be the cheapie that got away in 2020. He’s near impossible to buy this week given he’s again been named on the bench, but the kid is a gun and he’ll find his way into the starting side sooner rather than later. He has had some serious impact this year already, averaging 40 points despite playing just 21 minutes per game.

Sea Eagles vs Bulldogs

Sunday, May 31st, Central Coast Stadium, 6:30pm

Sea Eagles: 1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Jorge Taufua 3. Brad Parker 4. Moses Suli 5. Reuben Garrick 6. Dylan Walker 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Danny Levi 10. Martin Taupau 11. Joel Thompson 12. Curtis Sironen 13. Jake Trbojevic

Interchange: 14. Lachlan Croker 15. Corey Waddell, 16. Sean Keppie, 17. Taniela Paseka

Reserves: 18. Morgan Boyle, 19. Jack Gosiewski, 20. Tevita Funa 21. Brendan Elliot

Team news: No changes to the starting 13. Corey Waddell (injury) and Taniela Paseka (ankle) return on the bench with Morgan Boyle and Haumole Olakau’atu dropping out.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Tom Trbojevic and Jake Trbojevic are now massive PODs given their seasons won’;t be disrupted by Orign or buys. despite being KFC SuperCoach superstars, both sit in POD range. Jurbo has had an extra two months to rehab his bung shoulder, while the shortened season suits Turbo with his injury history.

Bulldogs: 1. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, 2. Nick Meaney, 3. Reimis Smith, 4. Will Hopoate, 5. Christian Crichton, 6. Lachlan Lewis, 7. Jack Cogger, 8. Sauaso Sue, 9. Jeremy Marshall-King, 10. Dylan Napa, 11. Josh Jackson, 12. Dean Britt, 13. Adam Elliott

Interchange: 14. Jake Averillo, 15. Renouf To’omaga, 16. Raymond Faitala-Mariner, 17. Ofahiki Ogden

Reserves: 19. Kerrod Holland, 20. Aiden Tolman, 21. Sione Katoa, 22. Brandon Wakeham

Team news: Kieran Foran (shoulder/hamstring) remains sidelined. Jack Cogger replaces Brandon Wakeham in the halves. Aiden Tolman drops out of the 17 and is replaced at prop by Sauaso Sue. Joe Stimson (shoulder, season) is replaced in the back row by Dean Britt. Ofahiki Ogden joins the bench.

KFC SuperCoach analysis: Nothing doing.
