Eels agony for SuperCoaches as Nathan Peats exit confirmed
NOT only have Parramatta Eels officials screwed the club, screwed the players and screwed the fans, but they’ve also screwed SuperCoaches everywhere. Royally.

FORGET the Rob Sutherland rant, this is the Dave Campbell diatribe and if you don’t know what it’s going to be about then you’re clearly not a Nathan Peats owner so just leave now.
Let’s start with a huge, sarcastic slow-clap for the Parramatta Eels club management.
Well done Steve Sharp and co. Just a brilliant job you’ve done in Sydney’s west.
Not only have these officials screwed the club, screwed the players and screwed the fans, but they’ve also screwed SuperCoaches everywhere. Royally.
All year we’ve heard about how the Eels are the best team for bye coverage. They play the big bye rounds of 12, 15 and 18 which means a few of them in your team is a big tick as the Origin period draws ever closer.
Nathan Peats was shaping up to be a top trade-in target to cover the hooker position across the bye period and is already owned by close to 14,000 SuperCoaches. His dual-position 2RF status was a win too.
And then came the axe.
With the Eels having to shed $570,000 worth of talent before Friday to be eligible for competition points, speculation was rife as to which players might be shown the door.
Yesterday’s news that Peats was officially being shipped off to the Titans was a kick in the guts to SuperCoaches who did their due diligence and picked him up in anticipation of the bye period.
Trades are like diamonds and now we’ll likely have to piss another one up against the wall to bring in a genuine bye player.
What’s worse is the fact Tom Sangster has been saying for weeks Peats shouldn’t be traded in for bye coverage until at least round 11. Tragically, the ineptitude of the Parramatta officials has proven him right. And that hurts almost as much as Peats being offloaded.
The least the Eels could have done to make up for this blatant betrayal was to release Peats to a club that also plays round 12.
We deserved that much.
