The legacy of Andrew Johns continues to grow, with the NRL Immortal staking claim to the highest unofficial SuperCoach score of all-time.

Joey Johns's all-time SuperCoach score

The legacy of Andrew Johns continues to grow, with the NRL Immortal staking claim to the highest unofficial SuperCoach score of all-time.

We’ve previously credited former Canberra playmaker Terry Campese with the mantle for his estimated 262 point effort in the Raiders’ 74-12 annihilation of Penrith in the nation’s capital in 2008.

Upon review, Campese’s effort has been eclipsed by Johns who notched approximately 281 points in the Knights’ 54-26 win over the Raiders in Round 21, 2001.

While most statistics were available from the clash, we went back through the tape and recalculated Joey’s master class to include every scoring category.

Widely regarded as the greatest rugby league player of all-time, Johns can now add the title of SuperCoach GOAT to his list of honours — at least for a single game.

Making the feat all the more impressive was the torrential rain that poured down prior to the game and again in the second half.

Johns scored a club record 34 points in the match, comprising of nine from nine conversions and four tries, also a joint best for the Knights.

Johns’ afternoon included three try assists, four linebreak assists, five linebreaks and nine tackle busts.

In 2006, Johns achieved the most goals in a game for Newcastle with 11 in the side’s 70-32 thrashing of the Raiders in Canberra.

In the same game, we estimated Johns to comfortably eclipse the 200 point SuperCoach barrier.

Since SuperCoach began in 2008 the nature of scores have been greatly inflated due to the introduction of additional attacking statistics.

Officially, Manly fullback Tom Trbojevic boasts the highest score of all-time for his 194 point effort against Gold Coast in Round 23 last year – incredibly on the losing team.

Trbojevic leapt ahead of Cameron Munster’s 183 point haul from 2016, while James Maloney (181), James Tedesco (180), Gareth Widdop (173) and Jordan Rapana (170) round out the top six.

On his mammoth night out, Trbojevic scored three tries, assisted two, busted 11 tackles, had five linebreaks and ran 19 times.
