This is your chance to pick the NSW Blues People’s Choice Player of the Year for 2021 - so how do you split the likes of Tom Trbojevic and Latrell Mitchell?

The 2021 Origin series made history after all three games were played on Queensland soil, but it didn’t matter to Brad Fittler’s Blues as they ripped off their third series win in four years in dominant and devastating fashion.
Two lopsided victories in the opening two matches ensured the Origin shield would return to New South Wales after last year’s shock series loss, and there was no shortage of sky blue heroes.
Now, the fans have their chance to name the best player across the three matches with The Daily Telegraph’s Peoples Choice Award.
The winner will be announced at the NSWRL Awards night at The Brad Fittler Medal dinner at The Star on December 1.
Tom Trbojevic
The Wally Lewis medallist dominated the series at centre, crossing for four tries and brushing Queenslanders aside whenever he touched the ball. Played a crucial role in the blues’ victories in the first two matches of the series.
James Tedesco
Cemented his status as the best fullback in New South Wales Origin history with another exemplary series at the back with his constant involvement and excellent support play again coming to the fore. Grew in stature in his second series as skipper.
Latrell Mitchell
Returned to the team after two years out of Origin and looked like he never left. The Rabbitohs star was untouchable at times and crossed for tries in all three matches. Was unlucky to miss out on the Wally Lewis Medal.
Tariq Sims
A surprise selection to some, the Dragons veteran put in a great shift on the left edge in all three games and offered plenty of experience alongside exciting rookies Brian To’o and Jarome Luai. An unsung hero of the Blues’ triumph.
Brian To’o
The pick of the state’s rookies, To’o’s incredible workrate and powerful running proved crucial in helping the Blues dominate the middle third of the field. To’o scored a double on debut in Townsville and ran for 608 metres across the series while his bubbly personality made him a fan favourite off the field.
Nathan Cleary
Came of age with his best overall series to date. Cleary marshalled his troops expertly and managed to replicate his brilliant combination with Luai at the game’s highest level. His kicking game proved to be a powerful weapon in both Blues victories.
Cam Murray
Usually a middle forward, Murray made a great fist of life on the right edge for the Blues with his excellent one-on-one defense particularly standing out across the three matches. A candidate to one day succeed Tedesco as the state’s captain.
