AARON Woods will run out for the Wests Tigers this week in a bid to prove his fitness and recovery from a hamstring injury before the NSW State of Origin team is announced next week.
NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley joined the Daily Telegraph’s Dean Ritchie on the Loz and Dog Show to debate Woods’ chances of being included in the Origin squad.
“Woodsy has been an important part of the team over the last couple of years and a bit of a leader in our team,” Daley said.
“If he plays and gets through OK you’d like to think he’s a part of it but hamstrings are funny things.
“What better test for him than up there at Suncorp Stadium against the Broncos?”
Daley and Ritchie also discussed who would replace Paul Gallen as the dominant figure in the NSW team this year.
