Roosters superstar Latrell Mitchell has been warned he needs a strong performance against the Bulldogs at the SCG to hold his place in the NSW State of Origin team.

Blues coach Brad Fittler will be at the game today to monitor his performance opposite experienced Bulldogs centre Will Hopoate.

At this stage he is bracketed with Cronulla Sharks veteran Josh Morris for the final centre position.

Manly star Tom Trbojevic will play on the opposite side.

As revealed in The Daily Telegraph last week, struggling halfback Nathan Cleary will play five-eighth outside of Knights halfback Mitchell Pearce.

Jack Wighton will come off the bench.
