We’ve constructed both squads based on season SuperCoach averages after round 11.
And to say the Queensland side is... err, interesting... is an understatement.
But first, the ground rules.
Players had to be eligible for their state and have been named in a position relevant to their SuperCoach position.
Players with the highest SuperCoach averages after round 11 were drafted in first before moving down the list.
If a player’s position was already filled with players who had higher averages then that player gets a bench spot.
If the bench was full they missed out.
We ditched players like Cameron Smith who have retired from Origin and left out players who hadn’t played more than three matches - someone like Rhyse Martin who only had three matches under his belt after round 11 but had a huge average.
The NSW side came together pretty quickly and while there are a number of surprises most players have huge SuperCoach averages.
QLD on the other hand took some scrolling... and scrolling... and scrolling. When your first choice CTW is Dale Copley you know you’re having issues.
The totals in the end deliver a huge win for the Blues are indicative of how the Queensland NRL clubs have been performing this season.
Queensland has some big names but not enough SuperCoach stars to get past NSW in 2018.
