Blues enforcer Tariq Sims confident he will escape suspension and play in decider
Tariq Sims is confident he will beat the judiciary charge which could rule him out of State of Origin III as the Dragons forward vows to repay Brad Fittler’s faith.
CONFUSION: Blues in chaos after selection drama
ESCAPE: How Sims could beat the charge
NSW enforcer Tariq Sims is confident he will escape suspension to line-up in the decider against Queensland next Wednesday.
Sims’ hopes of lining up in Game 3 hinge on him beating a grade-two dangerous contact charge at the NRL Judiciary on Tuesday night.
The St George Illawarra forward has pleaded not guilty to the incident that concussed North Queensland playmaker Michael Morgan.
He will cop a three-match ban if he fails to prove his innocence at the judiciary.
Sims is determined to beat the charge so he can repay NSW coach Brad Fittler for selecting him with a judiciary drama hanging over his head.
“Freddy definitely could not have picked me,” Sims told The Daily Telegraph.
“There are plenty of players who have been playing really well and a few who have been 18th and 19th man for the first two games.
“So for him to show faith in me makes you want to repay him with a good performance.
“It (the charge) is one of those things where you can’t control what other people are thinking.
“I’m just glad we’ve got training on today, so I can distract myself and just enjoying being back in camp.
“But having the support of Brad really helps.
“I just have to go in there with a positive attitude and hopefully come out with a positive outcome.”
