JUST days after a jury found he acted with reckless indifference to the life of a former Cronulla player, disgraced sports scientist Stephen Dank is unbelievably back plying his trade at a Fairfield medical clinic.

Armed with medical reports, Dank arrived at the Barbara St clinic showing no signs of remorse after the damning court verdict.

Dank attempted to sue this newspaper for defamation over a series of articles on Jon Mannah, who died of lymphoma after being injected with two illegal peptides authorised by Dank.

The jury found against Dank on all matters relating to Mannah, who died in 2013 after being injected with peptides while he was in remission from lymphoma.

Those peptides, untested on humans, were administered by Dank on Mannah without properly considering his condition.

The jury found against Dank in a damning and comprehensive verdict.

“By administering peptides to Jon Mannah, Dank accelerated Mannah’s death from cancer,” the verdict read.

“Dank administered dangerous and cancer-causing supplements to Jon Mannah and other football players thereby exposing them to risk. Dank’s conduct in administering peptide substances to football players was absolutely indefensible.”

While former Cronulla players are understood to be considering extensive legal action against the club for their lack of care, the verdict apparently had little impact on the controversial and disgraced sports scientist who turned up for work as usual at the Fairfield clinic run by business partner Dr Alicia Meneghetti, who provides Dank’s patients with prescriptions.

According to her online profile, Dr Meneghetti studied in Uruguay and provides “aesthetic and anti-ageing medicine”, specialising in cosmetic injections.

Repeated calls to Dank and Dr Meneghetti were not returned but the medical receptionist at the clinic made it clear she would not pass on messages.

“Don’t call back here,” she said. “Get lost, get stuffed. You are full of shit. I have a patient here and you are just full of shit.”

Dank has been banned for life from the AFL and NRL but he persists with private practice, claiming he has every right to diagnose and treat patients with peptides.
