A friend of Sam Burgess has shared a huge personal update, just five months after the NRL great went public with his new girlfriend.

NRL great Sam Burgess and his girlfriend Lucy Graham are expecting their first child together, five months after the pair went public with their relationship.
Burgess, who shares two children with his ex-wife Phoebe Burgess, has known Graham for 20 years.

The pair both hail from the UK, with Graham recently moving to Australia to start a family with the current South Sydney assistant coach.
A close friend of the NRL premiership-winner has told News Corp that Burgess is “extremely happy” about the news.
A spokeswoman for the pair revealed that both Burgess and Graham “are happy and healthy and excited about their future together.”
Burgess first went public with his new girlfriend at the premiere of Russell Crowe’s new film Poker Face in October 2022.
The 34-year-old, who represented the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 182 NRL games and played 24 Tests for England, cuddled up to his date on the red carpet alongside Hollywood A-listers in Rome as they were pictured together for the first time.
Burgess shared more photos with Graham on Christmas Day last year.
Instagram snaps captured what appears to be a joyous family gathering with his brothers, fellow NRL stars Thomas and George, and their respective loved ones.
Among the happy snaps from the family Christmas is one showing the pair cuddling in the driveway.
Graham has previously worked as a hairdresser and had her own fashion business called Sentenced before her recent move to Australia.
Burgess was appointed to an assistant coaching role with the Rabbitohs earlier this year.
Burgess split with his now ex-wife Phoebe in 2019, with whom he shares children Poppy, four, and Billy, three.
