Queensland say they will abide by the findings of the NRL's independent report into alleged Ben Te'o incident

THE outcome of the NRL probe into Ben Te'o is imminent and the Maroons will abide by the findings of the independent report, the QRL says.

THE outcome of the NRL probe into Ben Te'o is imminent and the Maroons would abide by the findings of the independent report, Queensland Rugby League chairman Peter Betros said last night .

The selection of Te'o for the Maroons remains in doubt, with coach Mal Meninga and Betros set to accept the findings of the independent report into allegations he assaulted Brisbane woman Katie Lewis at the home of Broncos fullback Corey Norman last month.

Te'o will today get the opportunity to set the record straight and is expected to front the media as the Maroons settle into camp at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast.

The South Sydney forward has denied the allegations and the NRL has moved swiftly since The Courier-Mail broke the story last week to investigate what occurred on April 20.

Betros said last night the QRL was expecting a ruling from the NRL today.

"I understand that the integrity unit's findings will be released in the next 24 hours. Hopefully we can have the situation settled one way or the other," Betros said.

"It's not a hard one for us; it's probably hardest for the player. Ben was good enough for selection, so as it stands he is available for selection.

"The investigation is being done separate to us and we'll accept whatever outcome. So far we have heard one side of the story but we need to hear both sides."

Te'o, 26, told reporters at Brisbane Airport yesterday that he would be available for media at the Maroons open day at Coolum.

Ms Lewis sustained a fractured eye socket in the incident. Channel 9 last night aired the 000 emergency call she made to police. Ms Lewis has told Nine she plans to make a formal complaint with Queensland police this week and would then be prepared to talk to the NRL integrity unit to share her side of the story.

Maroons coach Mal Meninga will welcome a resolution from the NRL, with Queensland to hold their first training session as a team today.

Canberra enforcer Josh Papalii was named 19th man on Monday night and would most likely be promoted for his Origin debut if Te'o is ruled out.

Meninga reiterated he would follow NRL direction on whether Te'o could play in rugby league's showpiece event at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday.
