Marissa Townsend said the behaviour of a small number of players was resulting in the entire code being tarred with the same brush, including her undeserving husband.

Penrith Panthers player Tyrone May has been identified in a sex tape calling a woman a “f…ing ratbag” and pushing the back of her head during sex.
“I am disgusted with any form of violence or disrespect towards women, I do however feel that when one player makes a poor choice it affects everybody,” she said.
“Ninety-nine per cent of these players are dedicated, hardworking men who train extremely hard and make the ultimate sacrifices to play the game they love.
“The pressure of this industry is immense both mentally and physically which is why it is upsetting me that they are currently been torn to pieces within the media.”
Manly Sea Eagles Kelepi Tanginoa’s partner Evelyn Vaigalu said most players were at the elite level of rugby league for the “right reasons”.
