The NRL’s former million dollar man Anthony Milford headlines a list of players including ex-Origin stars, premiership winners and former young guns whose futures remain undecided.
An in-depth look at the talent pool still unsigned for next season has revealed about 50 players are fighting to keep their careers alive.
Milford, Matt Lodge, Michael Jennings, Liam Knight and Matt Eisenhuth are among the names of those who are technically unsigned and without an income when their deals expire on November 1.
Milford looks destined for the Super League after bouncing around three clubs in the past four seasons. He played just two games for the Dolphins this year and despite being just 30 looks unlikely to find another spot in the NRL.
Eisenhuth was the only player in the NRL’s preliminary finalists yet to have a new deal announced.
He’s not alone. Newcastle are yet to make public Brodie Jones and Mat Croker’s contracts despite the forwards extending their time at the club while outside back Enari Tuala will join the Bulldogs.
