SUPER Saturday is underway with eight NRL trial matches being played across Australia and New Zealand, a host of stars will debut for their new clubs for the first time.

The likes of Ben Hunt, James Graham, Matt Moylan and James Maloney will all don new jumpers on a thrilling day that will give fans their first lengthy taste of NRL action for 2018. The clashes will also have major implications on SuperCoach sides who get their first major look at prospective buys. IN SUPERCOACH NEWS: - Savili Havili played big minutes at hooker for Canberra, Aidan Sezer also spent time in the position. Craig Garvey played the back end of the match. - Jesse Ramien and Sione Katoa both starred for Cronulla against Manly. - Matt Moylan kicked goals for the Sharks, substantially upping his appeal as a POD purchase if he can win the duty when Cronulla’s full-strength side returns. - Corey Oates scored for Brisbane in his debut as a backrower for the club. This could open a spot in the backline for a cheapie. - Johnathan Thurston struggled on his return from injury and now has question marks as a purchase for round one. Jake Clifford slices straight through from 20 metres out off the scrum. Way too easy for the former Under 20s player of the year. Clifford converts his own try and the Cowboys have narrowed the gap to 24-10.

A quick play the ball from Felise gives the Tigers some roll on and Corey Thompson chimes into the play from fullback to score an easy try. It’s his second of the night. Marsters converts and the Tigers lead 24-4.

The Tigers are running away with, Josh Reynolds ducks down the blindside and puts Taane Milne over untouched. Way too easy. The Tigers are playing with greater intent, but to be fair the Cowboys have hooked most of their starters. Milne can’t convert his own try, Tigers lead 18-4.

Tyson Gamble takes the Cowboys on close to the line and squeezes over. Soft try, but a good run from Gamble. Marsters can’t convert and the Tigers lead 16-4.

Disaster for the Tigers right on halftime. A loose pass from Reynolds finds the grass, Lolohea can’t pick it up, Thurston toes it through and regathers before popping a pass to Coen Hess. Hess gallops 20 metres to score under the posts. Lowe misses the kick from right in front somehow, Cowboys trail 10-4.
