Originally it was hoped Sivo had only suffered damage to his medial cruciate ligament, but on Tuesday the club learnt thegiant Fijian winger had ruptured his ACL, which threatens to rule him out of the first 10 weeks of the 2022 season.

Physiotherapist Brien Seeney, aka NRLPhysio, warned that the type of injury Sivo suffered could require an extended rehabilitation.

“Worse news than expected for Maika Sivo, with scans revealing an ACL rupture in addition to damage to his MCL,” Seeney saidon Twitter.
