NRL stars investigated for alleged biosecurity breach after playing pokies

Captain Kevin Proctor is among four Titans players being investigated for an alleged biosecurity breach after being spotted playing the pokies.

Four Titans players including captain Kevin Proctor are being investigated for a breach of biosecurity rules after they were seen playing poker machines on Thursday.

The Titans are currently in Sydney ahead of Saturday’s clash with Canberra at Kogarah Oval after they were forced to leave Queensland.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Proctor played poker machines for a number of hours at the Locker Room Bar near Sydney’s Olympic Park.

The three other unnamed players joined him briefly. It is believed all four were not wearing masks as per NRL rules which kicked into effect after a spike in Brisbane.

However, Titans head of culture and performance Mal Meninga told Fox League on Friday he doens’t believe the players have anything to worry about.

The Titans’ alleged breach comes after Tigers centre James Roberts and Eels utility Will Smith were seen at the Tim Tszyu fight on Wednesday evening and not wearing masks.

The NRL clamped down hard on Nathan Cleary, Latrell Mitchell and Josh Addo-Carr when they breached COVID-19 protocols in 2020.
