The Panthers secured their place in the grand final against the Eels after ending the Rabbitohs’ season in the preliminary final.
South Sydney rattled the Panthers early and skipped out to a 12-0 lead, but then Penrith, led by Nathan Cleary, powered up and piled on the points in the second half to run out winners 32-12.
There were plenty of stars for the Panthers, while Souths’ big-game players were to the fore early before fading away.
