NRL great Greg Inglis takes on two major coaching roles after Wests Tigers confirm he’s joined as an NRLW assistant

Greg Inglis is a man in demand with the Hall of Famer accepting two major coaching roles in two days.

Greg Inglis has joined the Wests Tigers’ NRLW coaching staff just a day after it was announced that the Hall of Fame inductee had agreed to become an assistant coach for Queensland’s women’s State of Origin side.

The Maroons legend has worked with the Tigers in the past as a mentor for fullback Jahream Bula, but he’ll have a more extensive role this year in a huge boost for the wooden-spooners who won just two games in 2024.

Inglis will work as a specialist assistant coach for the Tigers’ back five and will provide plenty of support for head coach Brett Kimmorley.

“Greg is a phenomenal addition to our coaching staff,” Kimmorley said.

“His knowledge, leadership, and ability to connect with players are second to none.

“I have no doubt that he will have a profound impact on our squad as we build towards the upcoming season.

“Greg has finished an NRL coaching course, as well as attended our pathways education session, and the support from the club to continue to grow in the NRLW program is evident with this investment.”

The announcement came a day after the QRL confirmed the legendary fullback and centre had joined Tahnee Norris’ coaching staff for this year’s Origin series.

“He’s a legend of the game,” Norris said.

“Greg’s always been an advocate for women’s rugby league.

“He’s previously been around our camps as a mentor, so to have the opportunity to put him on full time this year is going to be a great asset for us.

“The knowledge that he brings is just second to none. I know our outside backs in particular will learn a lot from him.”
