NRL clubs lend their support to Todd Greenberg in conference call
The NRL clubs have emphatically backed CEO Todd Greenberg and the decision to play Round 2 of the NRL despite other major codes shutting down.

All 16 club CEO’s have voted unanimously to keep the NRL season going, ahead of a pending decision on the future of major footy code rivals at the AFL.
Aware that AFL boss Gill McLachlan is preparing to make a call on whether he will suspend their season due to the coronavirus, as early as Wednesday afternoon, NRL boss Todd Greenberg called a 1.30pm conference-call of all club CEOs.
Greenberg wanted to make certain that there was no sense of waver among the 16 clubs, as the code pushes ahead with a round two lock-out of fans this weekend.

In a rarely seen act of solidarity within rugby league, each of the 16 clubs declared their support of the NRL’s decision to play-on and doubled-down on their position by declaring their players and staff were also backing the code.
There was no further information provided by Greenberg on the phone hook-up to the CEOs about the potential of moving every club into an isolated location, with the NRL boss preferring to continue to assess the best possible solution to keep the competition running.
