NRL casualty ward round 11: Munster cleared, Hiku out for season

CAMERON Munster has been cleared of any serious damage after hyperextending his elbow. The fullback courageously played on despite clearly being in discomfort. He will be available for the Storm’s next clash against the Panthers in round 13.
Backrower Beau Scott suffered a corked thigh on Monday night against the Storm and Kieran Foran picked up a shoulder complaint.
Foran has been cleared of any serious injury and will be treated during the week for inflammation.
Both have been named to take on the Knights.
The Panthers have been dealt another injury blow to their backline. Centre Peta Hiku’s season is over after he did both his ACL and MCL. Promising backrower James Fisher-Harris is out for six to eight weeks with a broken thumb.
Reagan Campbell-Gillard also suffered a broken nose and it is unknown when he’ll return.
Tyrone Roberts left the field with a corked thigh after a hit from Penrith’s Leilani Latu. He should be available for selection for Gold Coast’s round 13 clash against the Rabbitohs in Perth. Titans coach Neil Henry also expects David Shillington will be available, after the forward was ruled out pre-game in round 11.
Manly centre Steve Matai was ruled out pre-game with a neck injury but should be back for his side’s round 13 match against the Raiders in Canberra. Apisai Koroisau (ribs), Feleti Mateo (neck) and Jorge Taufua (collarbone) are all also expected to return from their respective injuries for the Sea Eagles.
Things only get worse for the Knights, especially in the halves, with young five-eighth Brock Lamb suffering an ankle injury. He requires surgery and will be sidelined for about two months.
Newcastle forwards Sam Mataora (hamstring) and Jacob Saifiti (wrist) were pre-game omissions but Mataora has been named to take on the Eels on Monday night while Saifiti will miss another week.
The Tigers should be with Kevin Naiqama (groin) and Justin Hunt (neck) against the Broncos on Friday night after both were late withdrawals on the weekend.
At the Broncos, forward Jarrod Wallance and hooker Andrew McCullough picked up shoulder complaints but will play against the Tigers.
Cowboys utility Rory Kostjaysn comes back to the bench after missing round 11 with a neck injury.
