Sydney Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has been wiped out for four NRL fixtures after failing to have his careless high tackle charge downgraded at the judiciary.

JWH SIN BINNED in record breaking milestone match

Sydney Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has copped a four-match ban after failing to have his careless high tackle charge downgraded at the judiciary.

It means Waerea-Hargreaves won’t return until Round 25 against Gold Coast.

Waerea-Hargreaves, who pleaded guilty to a grade two careless high tackle charge for the hit on St George Illawarra’s Max Feagai in Sunday’s big win over the Dragons, was hoping to have his three-match ban reduced to a fine.

The veteran broke the Roosters’ record for most games played for the club in his 307th appearance for the Tricolours last weekend but will now have to sit in the stands before coming back for the last three rounds of the regular season before the finals.

Young Roosters middle forward Naufahu Whyte, who was dropped to NSW Cup last weekend, is Waerea-Hargreaves’ likely replacement for the club’s next clash against the competition-leading Storm in Melbourne in Round 20 after the Chooks enjoy the bye this week.
