Cronulla playmaker Braydon Trindall has been fined $1100, had his licence suspended for three months and made to install an alcohol interlock system on his car, after appearing in court on Tuesday.

Trindall is set to be handed a breach notice by the NRL after pleading guilty in Sutherland Local Court to charges of drink-driving and failing an illicit road-test incurred last month.

Trindall will have five-days to respond to the breach notice, with the Cronulla five-eighth free to play during the same period.

It’s expected Trindall will be named to replace NSW State of Origin halfback Nicho Hynes for the Sharks in their clash with the Eels at CommBank Stadium on Thursday night.

It will be Trindall’s first match in five weeks, having taken time away from the game to undergo professional counselling.
