Andrew Fifita has been discharged from hospital — and has even turned up to Sharks training.

Taking a monumental step forward on the former Test prop’s road to recovery, Fifita was discharged on Wednesday night, 10 days after being placed in an induced coma in a Brisbane hospital.

Fifita required life-saving surgery for a fractured larynx. He was placed in a five-day coma in an effort to ease pressure on his airwaves.

Fifita’s emotional story and interview with The Daily Telegraph on Monday was received with widespread shock and overwhelming support for his recovery.

Wanting to encourage his Cronulla teammates ahead of their season-defining clash with the Broncos on Saturday, Fifita was a surprising onlooker at the team’s training session on Thursday.

“I wish I was out there with the boys,’’ Fifita said.

“It was pretty special. I’m so happy to be back with my family and team.’’
