NRL 2020: Wests Tigers star Luke Brooks caught up in terrifying burglary scare | What’s the Buzz

One of the NRL’s highly paid stars has been left shaken after thieves broke into his new Gladesville home, stealing valuable items while he was asleep.

Wests Tigers’ star halfback Luke Brooks is recovering from a break and enter on his Gladesville home while he was asleep with his partner on Wednesday night.

Police are investigating the incident in which thieves stole Brooks’ wallet, mobile phone, car keys and his girlfriend Tahlia’s car.

His credit card was used to buy cigarettes later that night.

Brooks has been left shaken by the incident, which was later reported to Ryde police.

Tahlia Kormanyos had her Kia Sportage stolen from outside the house.

Brooks’ manager, Isaac Moses, has confirmed the incident to The Sunday Telegraph.

“It’s obviously a nasty experience but Luke and his partner are both OK and police are investigating,” Moses said.

“He doesn’t want to talk about it.”

Police are convinced it was not a targeted attack by thieves cashing in the wealth of one of the NRL’s highly paid stars.

Ryde police are now studying CCTV footage from the service station where the brazen thief bought cigarettes with Brooks’ card after the robbery.

Brooks has only recently moved into his new home.
