AARON Woods responded in the best way possible after fans booed the Leichhardt junior before kick-off against the Bulldogs.
Tigers fans, who are understandably upset about losing three of their biggest stars, aimed their frustrations at Woods by booing him at ANZ Stadium on the weekend.
To his credit, the Blues forward took the jeers in his stride, and led from the front as he inspired his side to an unlikely victory.
But were fans right to boo him?
“I don’t get how you can go to the game and boo anyone, even the opposition players. I would never do it and could never understand anyone who would do it,” said Monday Bunker host Paul Crawley.
The Bunker crew also discussed Penrith’s slow start to the season.
After lighting up season 2016, the men from the foot of the mountain have bitterly disappointed.
Coach Anthony Griffin is coming under fire, particularly after his curfew crackdown.
But Paul Crawley argues those close to the club say: “Players are dead set on board with Hook.”
“The premiership favourites (tag) was unwarranted. They still had a lot to prove, they made it deep into the finals last year but there are still teams ahead of them,” said Matt Logue.
Jarryd Hayne has tongues wagging again after starring for the Titans in their shock win against the premiers, but has he done enough to earn a Blues call-up?
“That’s the Hayne Plane at its best,” said The Courier-Mail’s Travis Meyn.
“He’s had six weeks out of the game. He’s come back and it’s no coincidence when he’s on the field they’re winning.
“He was talking about his Origin chances and you have to think he’d be a certainty to for the NSW team.”
The crew also discuss Des Hasler’s “dumb” Bulldogs and get an update on how salary cap negotiations are faring from Phil Rothfield.
Could the NRL really be facing a player strike?
