IVAN Cleary reaffirmed his commitment to the Tigers over the weekend, but is it too little, too late?

Amid the storm of controversy surrounding Anthony Griffin’s sacking from Penrith and Cleary’s potential move back to the foot of the mountains, the Monday Bunker’s Paul Crawley believes Cleary’s position is still shaky despite his pledge to remain with Wests Tigers.

“I reckon they’re going to have to come up with a new catchphrase there because the bus has been put off the road,” Crawley said.

“He sold that as the message. When Mitchell Moses was swinging in the wind last year, not knowing what his future was, he was saying you’re either on the bus or you’re off the bus.

“He did the same to Woodsy he did the same to Tedesco.

“He’s kidding himself and he’s kidding the fans.

“Nothing’s been clarified. Absolutely nothing.”

The Tigers are still in with a real chance at making the finals after their win over Canberra on the weekend and could end Round 22 level on points with the Broncos.

Cleary’s statement on Friday took aim at media misinformation surrounding his intentions, but Fatima Kdouh pointed out Cleary had contributed to the issue through his own lack of clarity.

“The interesting thing about that msinformation comment is that it’s on the back of Gus’s tweet after Hook was sacked saying the truth will come out.”

“There’s still more to this story, so what is the truth? What is the misinformation?”
