IS the price of a day out at the footy too expensive?
With associated costs such as food and beer at a premium, many families struggle to afford the required budget to attend games.
Monday Bunker host Paul Crawley discussed the issue on this week’s show, believing the various costs were too high.

“Cost is a huge, huge issue when you’re going out to the football,” Crawley said.
“You take one hundred bucks and you’re lucky to feed the kids.”
Panel member Fatima Kdouh agreed, saying the game had lost touch with its roots.
“It costs twenty dollars to park your car before you even get into the stadium,” Kdouh said.
“Essentially we are still a working class game and there are certain elements of the game that seem to have forgotten that.”
Mixed resposes were received when asked the question on Twitter, with many believing the NRL is in fact doing enough to make it affordable to attend games.
Look, I do understand the discussion that it is an expensive day out. I can personally say, it has been an expensive day out for me. However, I take a big bottle of water and Dante bottle (so I can refill). I always take fruit, sandwiches, snacks like chips for the kid to save $

I would say on balance we don't go to many away from ANZ because Ticket prices, food prices, traffic, parking, game day experience. Save the $140 and sit at home and get better enjoyment. We don't take public transport as too slow

Plenty of good things happening for #NRL fans around the grounds. F&B prices could be better in some places but most venues/teams are doing a lot in this space to enhance fan experience.@PenrithPanthers member pricing $5ð», @Cronulla_Sharks food trucks, @brisbanebroncos paddock pic.twitter.com/cbBZE7AKC9
