Max King’s wife Christy has posted an emotional reaction to her husband’s shock selection for NSW in next week’s State of Origin opener.
The model/Tik Tok vlogger posted a video, which has already has 324,000 views, shedding tears in her car after dropping the Canterbury prop off at the team hotel on Monday.
“Obviously I’m so proud, but I’m just so blown away by god,” Christy said while crying.
“He was on no one’s team list, like no one would have predicted he was going to play and be chosen, but God.”
The couple, who were married in October of 2023, have always been deeply religious.
Christy credited God and the couple’s faith heavily in the video, crediting God as the reason King rose above a list of contenders considered ahead of him in the Origin pecking order.
“I have seen this man put God first, and honour God, stay away from things,” she said.
“And here he is playing State of Origin.
“Like, how can you deny God”
“I’m so in awe of God’s goodness.”
Both Max and Christy usually attend church services on Sunday, even before game days.
The couple recently had a son, Hercules, who has also featured heavily in their game day routines.
