IS Matty Johns vs The Footy Show still even a thing? Judging by the latest ratings, which saw the Fox Sports TV boss shout the team lunch at a flash Paddington restaurant, clearly not.

MATTY Johns knows how to celebrate a big season.
On Friday, we spotted the stars and production team of the Matty Johns Show at the seriously flash Lucio’s restaurant in Paddington.
Fox Sports head of television Steve Crawley shouted Matty, Fletch, Hindy, Gordie and all the team to celebrate a remarkable season of ratings. Since moving to Sunday nights this year, The Matty Johns Show’s ratings are up 67 per cent.
“Matty Johns’ success has been one of my great satisfactions in television,” Crawley said. “I’ve worked with him since he retired from footy.
“We’ve had some bumps along the way but we’ve come through and it’s nice to celebrate the great year the show’s had.
“Some people didn’t think it would work on Sunday nights but our boss Patrick Delany, backed it, and our gun producers Joe Bromham, Jamie Lockyer, Ben Churchill and Ben Hogarth have done a wow of a job with the camera team.”
The Late Show with Matty Johns on Thursday night is also up 21 per cent on last year. In a huge year for Fox League, The Professor’s Farewell Tour ratings are up 15 per cent. Looks like he’ll be going around again next year.
