MANLY’S big win over Canberra has come at a huge cost with star fullback Tom Trbojevic suffering an ankle injury that looks set to sideline him for two games.
And that’s not the only bad news for coach Trent Barrett.
Scans today have confirmed forwards Curtis Sironen and Kelepi Tanginoa have also suffered ACL knee injuries that will most likely end their season.
Trbojevic left the ground late on Saturday night with an ankle injury after earlier setting up four tries and scoring one in a brilliant performance.
It is understood it is a syndesmosis ankle injury but is not as bad as was first feared.
Trbojevic is likely to miss this Sunday’s game against Gold Coast and the following game against Wests Tigers.
On a positive note, the Sea Eagles are likely to get Dylan Walker back for his first game of the season against the Titans.
In other injury and judiciary news from round 4:
* Storm lock Dale Finucane will sidelined for at least the next month with a fractured thumb.
* The Knights fear Tautau Moga has torn an ACL for the fourth time.
* The Cowboys fear prop Jordan McLean (foot) could miss the rest of the season.
* Shaun Johnson (groin) missed the Warriors’ win over the Roosters and remains in doubt for next week. “I’m not 100 per cent sure,” Warriors coach Stephen Kearney said. “We just didn’t want to take the risk. He ran pretty well on it (on Friday) but the medical team were just a bit iffy on it. This was going to be our third away game in four weeks, we’ve done a fair bit of travelling.” Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (elbow) came from the field late but Kearney expects the in-form fullback to line up next week.
* Sam Burgess (dangerous contact) is facing a one match ban regardless of plea. His only chance of playing next week is to fight the charge and win. The Rabbitohs also lost Mark Nicholls, Robert Jennings (both concussion) and Richie Kennar (hamstring), but all are hopeful of playing next week.
* Melbourne’s Will Chambers (dangerous contact) is facing a two match suspension regardless of plea, but Dale Finucane (also dangerous contact) can escape suspension with an early guilty plea.
* Aiden Tolman (ankle) is set to miss 10 weeks, while Moses Mbye (concussion) will be monitored following a heavy knock.
* Josh Dugan (groin) and Matt Moylan (hamstring) were pre-game withdrawals for the Sharks but both are expected back next week.
