The Roosters have decided to take the early plea for Joseph Aukuso-Suaalii, ruling him out for the next four weeks.
The NSW State of Origin centre had been considering seeking a downgrade of his high tackle charge for hitting Queensland fullback Reece Walsh from reckless to careless.
However the Roosters aren’t prepared to risk losing the challenge at the judiciary, which would push the 20-year-old’s ban out to five weeks, if found guilty.
With the Roosters having a bye this weekend, the four-week ban rules Aukuso-Suaalii out of contention for the Roosters round 15 clash with the Eels, State of Origin II, the Wests Tigers in round 17 and the Dragons in round 18.
He would be available for selection in Origin III in Brisbane.
