Former chairman Roy Spagnolo dumped from Parramatta Eels board again

FORMER chairman Roy Spagnolo has been booted off the Parramatta Leagues Club board yet again.

FORMER chairman Roy Spagnolo has been booted off the Parramatta Leagues Club board yet again.

Spagnolo was spectacularly voted out at the recent elections before returning to the board through a loophole.

But, based on legal advice, Spagnolo was yesterday forced to stand down with Sid Kelly the replacement. The election's returning officer conceded a vacant board position through Robert Sassen's resignation should not have gone to Spagnolo but to the next highest-polling candidate.

There have been suggestions Spagnolo may yet again try to force his way on to the board with Eric Grothe Sr to stand down.

But Grothe hasn't indicated he will relinquish his position.

Spagnolo finished an embarrassing 10th in the election count.
