Eastern side of Campbelltown Stadium to be renamed the Tommy Raudonikis Stand

Wests Tigers will honour club legend Tommy Raudonikis when they play at Campbelltown for the first time since his death.

Wests Tigers will celebrate the life of rugby league icon Tommy Raudonikis on Saturday by renaming the eastern side Campbelltown Stadium in honour of the Magpies legend.

Saturday’s clash against the Gold Coast Titans will mark the first time the Tigers have played at Campbelltown since Raudonikis’ passing last month, with several unique game-day initiatives set to take place.

The grandstand on the eastern side of the stadium will be renamed the Tommy Raudonikis Stand.

The Tigers will also wear a specially designed jersey for the clash that pays tribute to the talented halfback, while a stage set up on the northwest hill will include the four playing jerseys he wore throughout his career – Western Suburbs, Newtown, NSW and Australia.

Wests Tigers’ premier partner Nesd will donate their sternum position on the team’s playing jersey to charity organisation Smart Pups Assistance Dogs – a cause close to Raudonikis’ heart.

As the players run out for the 5:30pm kick-off, 30 former Western Suburbs Magpies greats will form a guard of honour along with “Smart Pup Tommy” — a dog that Raudonikis developed a strong relationship with through his work with the charity organisation Smart Pups Assistance Dogs.

The Raudonikis family will then distribute the match ball to be used for the game.
