New recruit Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has set his sights on the Raiders No.1 jersey after making the switch to Canberra.

Nicoll-Klokstad has joined Canberra immediately on a two-year deal after switching from the Warriors, and will front for his first training session on Saturday.

“I’m very excited, the opportunity to come here was too good to turn down,” Nicoll-Klokstad said.

“My family and I are really looking forward to coming to Canberra. This club has great history and we’re looking forward to learning all about it and learn more about the city of Canberra.

“I know Ata (Hingano) from my time at the Warriors, I’ll be living with him for a little bit so I’m very excited to get started.”

All six of Nicoll-Klokstad’s NRL starts have come on the wing, while he has also played one game off the bench for the Warriors.

But the 23-year-old utility, who the Raiders also view as a potential half, has his eye on Canberra’s fullback spot.

Regular Raiders No.1 Jack Wighton is being primed for a switch to five-eighth and Nicoll-Klokstad has joined Nick Cotric, Brad Abbey and Michael Oldfield in the race for the No.1 jersey.

“I’m looking to play at fullback however any position in the NRL I would be grateful for,” he said.

“Like I said, I can’t wait to meet all the team and start working hard.”
