Bulldogs legend Steve Price has promised to rebuild the club’s famous culture after being announced as the club’s new general manager of football on Tuesday night.

The Dogs’ mythical culture is a simple formula, first revealed in this direction many years ago when Peter “Bullfrog” Moore, the club’s long time secretary turned chief executive, beckoned with his finger before saying, “A plus B equals C”.

The formula was lost on the easily confused, so Bullfrog was asked for an explanation.

“Train hard, plus play hard, equals party hard,” he said.

Price will stand down from the board impressing chairwoman Lynne Anderson with his Canterbury ideals to take up the new role.

“The thing that has stood out since he came back onto the board is his innate belief and love of the Bulldogs culture,” Anderson said.

She added: “One of our goals as a new board was to attract the best talent, both on and off the field. Steve has undeniable high performance experience and importantly will bring his blue and white passion to this role.”

Price will work alongside head coach Dean Pay as the club continues as he oversees recruitment, junior pathways and development, the Bulldogs’ six NRL teams, its high performance staff and coaching staff.

“It’s not a lot about what you say, it’s actually what you do,” Price said.

“That’s the thing that Dean has been really conscious of and he has been trying to embed, along with Andrew.”

Chief executive Andrew Hill was excited by Price’s new role.

“After spending some time making sure that we found the right person, Steve was the outstanding candidate that came out of our interview process.
