FOUR of the game’s brightest young stars have burst into The Daily Telegraph’s annual list of the NRL’s top 50 players.
Rookie Cowboys sensation Kalyn Ponga, Wests Tigers five-eighth Mitchell Moses and Parramatta Eels fullback Bevan French have been included for the first time at the expense of more experienced players.
Ponga is the best kid I’ve seen in 10 years.
Another of the game’s most exciting younger players, Panthers playmaker Nathan Cleary, is also in the top 25 to be revealed Thursday.
Ponga, Moses and French are among the 26 to 50 positions on the top 50 list.
Ponga showed his extraordinary potential when he ran 177 metres and made two linebreaks in his NRL debut against the Brisbane Broncos in a semi-final last year.
Moses had a breakout season in 2016, finishing with 22 try assists, 12 linebreaks and 13 forced drop outs.
The lightning fast French scored 19 tries in 13 matches for the Eels last season last season.
