HIGHLIGHT
The punter who left a can of VB, a pie and a packet of cigarettes amongst the flowers at the Shane Warne statue at the MCG.
LOWLIGHT
Warnie. Not much more can be said. No words can adequately describe his monumental contribution to Australian sport and cricket globally.
DOLPHINS TARGET
Forget about Reece Walsh or Kalyn Ponga … the player the Redcliffe Dolphins want more than anyone else is Melbourne Storm half-back Jahrome Hughes.
Interestingly Dolphins recruitment guru Peter O’Sullivan originally signed Hughes as a rookie at the Sydney Roosters where he played S.G Ball.
O’Sullivan had another crack when he tried to entice him to the New Zealand Warriors. It doesn’t matter that Hughes is unavailable until 2024 … they are prepared to wait and still want him.
SHOOSH
Never mind the floods crisis … the state government is PAYING the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs to not have sports betting sponsorship on their jerseys or at their venues as part of their Reclaim the Game campaign.
