SOUTH Sydney have not once tried to shop Robbie Farah, but Canterbury did reach out recently and floated the idea of luring the No.9 in a swap deal for one of their big-name stars.
The Bulldogs are desperate to shed some talent for next season because the Morris twins, skipper James Graham and Greg Eastwood all on serious dough. They also have the little issue of finding an established dummy-half, and Farah is seen as an ideal fit.
While Farah would not come cheaply, the Dogs know he’s almost chump change when you consider the money potentially going out the other way.
We understand the Morris twins — Josh is on north of $800,000 next season on a heavily back-ended deal — were pitched to Redfern types.
Graham is being steered to the Dragons, but could have also joined the Burgess boys in an intimidating Pommy pack.

Souths are happy with Farah, even though they’ll start paying his full freight next year.
Damien Cook has locked down the No.9 jersey in the back half of the season, while Farah, 34 next January, remains a rock in defence.
Farah is also a strong trainer and can set a good example for the “Generation Next Bunnies”.
Cook this week praised Farah’s experience and work ethic, telling us: “I think he’s got plenty of footy left in him. As far as I know he’s happy here and I’m sure he’s enjoying his time and the challenge since coming across.’’
Sadly for Souths fans, a livewire like 26-year-old Cook, and the calm head of Farah coming off the bench, will likely be no match for Saturday’s rival, Melbourne pin-up and future Immortal Cameron Smith.

NEW Zealand coach David Kidwell was spotted at Park Cafe, underneath Redfern Oval, on Wednesday having a coffee with North Sydney coach Ben Gardiner. The pair led the Bunnies’ under-20s to victory in 2010.
STILL on Souths, what about the disturbing moustache John Sutton has decided to embrace. So far the trend has been slow to catch on at Redfern.
Damien Cook looked happy with himself when he posed up with Sutto with an equally-disturbing goatee that went out of fashion with Melrose Place.
Sutto will play on with Souths in 2018, but is already planning for life post-footy by investing in three F45 gyms, which are being run in and around Adelaide by his sis, former netballer Joanna Sutton, who is engaged to recently retired Port Adelaide defender Alipate Carlile.
JAMES Tedesco grew up 15 minutes down the road from Campbelltown Sports Stadium and will grace the south-western Sydney turf one last time as a ‘’local’’.
The Sydney Roosters-bound Wests Tigers superstar will be a big reason the fans will be optimistic about upstaging the North Queensland Cowboys.
Teddy started out with the Camden Rams before switching to Eaglevale St Andrews as a teenager.
This photo of a young Teddy, complete with the oversized shoulder pads, fuzzy hair and green mouthguard, featured him in full flight for St Gregory’s College.
Teddy’s father John still remembers watching his young bloke catch a dropout during an exhibition game at half-time one night and carving up his rivals to score.

WHICH Fox Sports presenter was spotted running from the car park as play started at a game last week?
We know it is true because we were walking from the same car park. Amazingly, he was not out of puff when he hopped behind the microphone.
IF you looked like Josh Mansour, you’d be getting your shirt off and swimming in the middle of winter, too.
The Penrith Adonis met up with good mate and Parramatta Eels centre Michael Jennings for a “coffee date’’ this week before deciding to go for a dip.
“Jenko had his shirt off as well, but I made him take that photo,’’ Mansour told us. “But he had no idea how to snap a photo. That was about the 30th take.’’
Mansour has dropped off the weights to focus on maintaining what he already has.
The Panthers are chasing their eighth straight win when they play the Dragons at Pepper Stadium on Sunday.
LISTEN: Michael Carayannis, Matt Logue and Fiona Bollen to talk about Neil Henry being shown the door, whether the players will protest and who are the genuine title contenders.
