Andrew and Matty Johns in dramatic feud after radio no-show

After Andrew Johns was a no-show for his radio commitment with his brother, Matty Johns has opened up on the feud between the pair.

Matty and Andrew Johns’ working alongside each other on radio remains up in the air after Andrew was a no-show on Friday.

The pair have had a public fall-out with the relationship between the pair souring in recent weeks. That came to a head on Friday morning when Andrew failed to report for his radio commitments alongside brother Matty.

The no-show has nothing to do with the Blues’ Origin loss on Wednesday but adds fuel to the fire that the pair’s relationship in recent weeks has deteriorated.

Andrew is a rotating guest on Matty’s Morning Glory show which airs every Friday on SEN. Matty opened the show noting his brother’s absence.

“Houston we have a problem, it’s official my brother is completely off me,” Matty said.

“There were rumours he might not come. I thought the last three weeks of him not returning phone calls was laziness. This morning him not coming has nothing to do with Origin. I thought his comments after the game were strong, up front and honest.

“He is off me. This is nothing new for me and Joey (Andrew). We were forced to share a bedroom for 19 years. We’ve had a fill of each other. Every six months we have a blue like this.”

Matty said the longest stand-off between the pair lasted for two years.

Despite their on and off relationship, SEN bosses said they had no clear indication when the pair would reunite on their airways.

“No doubt our audience were looking forward to Andrew and Matty catching up and clearing the air,” a SEN spokesman said. “We look forward to that taking place over the coming weeks on SEN.”

They had a highly publicised set-to on air just last month when Matty praised Queensland and questioned the Blues’ understanding of how they were going to play in the Origin opener.

Andrew – who is part of the NSW coaching staff- took immediate exception.

“Mate I’m sick of you rapping Queensland, that’s what I’m sick of,” Andrew said last month. “Put your Maroon jersey on, you should have some at home.

“Just because you played four games and lost four doesn’t mean you need to s---t bag NSW.”

Matty hit back: “You don’t need to be a baker to know that bread tastes good.”
