Move over Canterbury-Bankstown: With seven sons of former guns, the Redcliffe-based Dolphins were now rugby league’s new family club.

With the Hughes (Garry, Mark and Graeme) and Mortimer brothers (Steve, Chris and Peter), the Bulldogs were once the league’s most famous family club, challenged only by Souths when the four Burgess boys played.

But now Redcliffe has that mantle. In either the Dolphins NRL Academy or the Redcliffe Dolphins under 16 squad there were seven sons of notable past players, including Test and Origin legends.
