Former Bronco-turned-professional wrestler Daniel Vidot has returned home with a WWE decree to find more Australian footballers keen make the switch to the sports entertainment industry.

“The Untamed” Vidot is living his dream in the United States as a WWE performer.

Signed on a development contract last year, the 29-year-old Brisbane product is being rewarded for his hard work and dedication as he climbs the ranks of a company that in May this year had a reported net worth of $A4.7 billion.

“To be over there in the States now, in the WWE scene, it’s been phenomenal, not only for me as a person but in life generally,” Vidot told The Courier-Mail.

“It’s helped me transition to the performer I am right now.

“I’ve always that guy that’s been outside the box. The entertainment side of things has always been my forte. I’m enjoying the transition.

“It’s endless hours of training, and it’s very exhausting but I made a massive risk to do what I’m doing, I left a lot behind and a lot of sacrifices needed to be made.

“But the cool thing is you get to be you, and sometimes the footy field doesn’t really show that.

“Lots of people have different goals being a wrestler. Mine is to show my wild side.”

Vidot will have a role to play in the WWE Live show on Tuesday night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

It’s part of a tour that also includes shows in Sydney (Qudos Bank Arena) on Monday night, and in Melbourne (Rod Laver Arena) on Wednesday night.

Also appearing will be a host of WWE Smackdown Live starts including Roman Reigns, and WWE Australian superstars Buddy Murphy and “The IIconics” — Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.

The shows are not the only purpose of Vidot’s trip, with the former St Thomas More College student also out to secure more talent for the WWE.

“They (WWE) are very happy with my story so far and how I’ve gone, so one of the jobs I have while I’m here is trying to find some more rugby league and rugby union players, boys and girls,” he said.

“People that have big personalities are the ones that I’m mainly looking for, and the look.”

Vidot said his former Broncos teammate, retired great Sam Thaiday, would have been an ideal candidate “if he was a bit younger”.

“Big Sammy, he’s definitely a personality,” he said.
