Aussie James Webb has cleaned off the entire menu at Marrickville’s Slim’s Quality Burger — and the ravenous Sydney-sider is hungry for much more.
In just 20 minutes, Webb ate 15 burgers including some double and triples, a fries, a loaded fries, a thick shake and two cokes — a meal which weighed a remarkable 6.8kg.

As you may have guessed, Webb is not just any hungry punter.
The 34-year-old from Baulkham Hills in Sydney’s west is ranked 10th on the Major League Eating rankings which ranks the top 50 eaters on the professional eating circuit.
Webb is currently training for a US swing and while he didn’t polish off every morsel of food, he only had 20 minutes and was trying to build his capacity ahead of a gruelling race for the hot dog contest.
And this is just the appetiser as Webb prepares for his second attempt at the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4.
Last year, Webb became the first Australian to compete in the competition, eating 41 hot dogs in just 10 minutes to place third.
It was a remarkable effort, finishing just 6.5 short of Geoffrey Esper in second.
However, the king of world eating and 15-time Nathan’s champion Joey Chestnut ate a remarkable 63, especially considering he tackled a protester mid-competition.
It was still 13 hot dogs short of his world record of 76 set in 2021.
But Webb admitted he was somewhat overawed by the situation.
“I probably went too hard, too fast,” Webb told Nine News. “It was a big stage against the best guys.”
As for whether he’ll be able to take down Chestnut, Webb admitted: “I don’t think anyone will ever match him, so just to get closer to him will be a massive achievement in itself.”
While 41 hot dogs is massive, Webb wants to go better in 2023, targeting 50.
Webb only came to the eating game two years ago after a Hunter Valley wine tour with his partner where he polished off a pub’s big burger challenge.
After being invited to other eating competitions, Webb quit his sales job and went to the US, earning himself a contract in Major League Eating.
Co-founder of Slim’s Quality Burger Nik Rollison was stunned by Webb’s ability.
“We’ve never seen anything like it,” Rollison said. “The sheer determination and focus James brought to the table was remarkable.
“We knew he was Australia’s top competitive eater, but seeing him in action, eating our entire menu in 20 minutes – that’s truly something else.
“Webb’s training session at Slim’s Quality Burger is just a small taste of what’s to come.
“We’re honoured to be part of his journey, and we’re all cheering him on as he represents Australia on the global competitive eating stage.”
